While it builds

Follow each step on the progress page, or close the tab and come back when it's done.

The video builds on our servers. Closing the tab or the laptop doesn’t stop it. You get a notification when it’s ready, or if something needs a look.

The steps

Step	What happens
Script	Only for ideas. The script is researched and written.
Voiceover	The narration is recorded, line by line.
Search clips	Footage is found and checked for every scene.
Motion graphics	Graphics are drawn for the moments that need them.
Finalize	Music is placed and the timeline is put together.

Each tile on the page is one scene. Tiles light up as their voiceover and footage are done.

Status	Meaning
In queue	Waiting to start. It says why: waiting for a free server, or for one of your other videos to finish.
Building	A step is running.
Ready to edit	Done. Press Open editor.
Needs attention	Done, but some scenes have no visual. They’re highlighted. Fill them in the editor.
Failed	A step stopped. See below.

Leave queue takes a waiting video out of the queue. All its credits come back.
Cancel build stops a video that’s building. Credits for steps that haven’t started come back. A step already under way is charged. The script is kept, so you can start again later.

The page says which step failed, and its credits come back on their own.

Footage wasn’t found. The voiceover is kept. Press Find footage again, or open the editor and add footage yourself.
Anything else. Press Try again.
