Start from a script

Paste a script or add a file, and every word is read exactly as you wrote it.

Add your script

  1. On Home, paste the script into the box. Or press +, choose Custom script and pick a file.
  2. Pick the brand profile and send.

The counter under the box shows how long the script is.

Word and PDF files aren’t supported. Copy the text and paste it instead.

Write it to be read aloud

The voice reads everything in the script, so the script should hold only the words to be spoken.

  • Spell out short forms. “World War Two”, not “WW2”.
  • Use full sentences. Punctuation sets the pace of the voice.
  • Leave out titles and speaker names. No “Chapter 1” or “Narrator:”.
  • Leave out stage directions. No “[pause]” or “(laughs)”.

Numbers are fine as numerals. They’re read the way you’d say them.

The script check

When you send, the script is checked for the four things above. The check also stops a request for a script (“write me a video about…”), text that isn’t full sentences, and scripts that aren’t in English. English is the only language for now.

If it finds something, the tips row under the box shows the problem and the first place it occurs. Hover it to see the rest. Fix the script and send again, or press Use as is to go ahead without changes.
