Swap footage
Replace any shot with another clip, a photo, or something you uploaded.
Swapping footage is free.
Quick swaps
Select a footage clip and open Assets. Quick swaps shows other clips found for that line. One click swaps the clip, and undo brings it back.
Search for a shot
- Select the clip and press Swap asset. To add a new shot instead, press Add media.
- Describe the shot you want. Searching “aerial of a container ship at sea” works better than “ship”.
- Pick a source on the left, or keep Everywhere.
- Press Swap in.

Use your own files
Drag files onto Your uploads in the Assets panel or in the search window. They’re kept in the workspace, so you can use them in any video.
Fit the shot
- Crop to zoom in on part of the frame.
- Scale and Rotate to place it.
- Add blur to cover a logo or watermark. Drag a box on the preview.
- For photos, Motion sets a slow zoom or pan.
Clips from the web carry a small source credit in the corner while they’re on screen. See Footage and rights.
